Apple is one of the most famous, attractive and sophisticated technology brands in the world.

Theatre Lighting Hire Services UK have had a long-standing relationship with Apple’s reseller channel and have done various events with its resellers.

Theatre Lighting Hire Services UK were called in to support resellers hosting events based around GarageBand software.

 

 

 

The Brief

The event was to showcase the new "Garage Band" software that comes with all Apple Computers as standard. The software bridges the gap between technical potential and usability of studio music production software.

So as to market the software to the large cross-section of users, the event was to take place in shopping centres. The set and equipment had to look attractive and match the Apple branding. In addition, all technical equipment used had to be of the highest standard.

 

 

 

The Production

There were various elements to the production of the launch.

Firstly, the set. Theatre Lighting Hire Services UK Production Manager Johnny Palmer designed a set concept that was clean and simple - completely white.

This consisted of a white flat set, white stage, white valancing and white presentation table.

In addition, seating was to be provided to allow the audience to stay for a demonstration of the product. For this, steel deck units were dressed completely in white and placed in front of the presentation area.

 

Technical Production

In terms of technical production; sound quality is crucial.
As such a pair of Thunder Ridge 218 top cabs were used for mid-top projection and double-12" reflex bass bins for bottom end.

This system offered massive head-room, bass response down to 30Hz and an overall very pleasant listening experience.

Video was also provided in the form of two Panasonic plasma screens.

 

 

The Outcome

The two-day presentation was a massive success in both increasing awareness of the product and also in sales for the reseller.
